Museo de Arte de Ponce


The Ponce Museum of Art was founded in 1959 by don Luis A. Ferré with the purpose of presenting Puerto Ricans with the history of western civilization through its works of art. For over fifty years, the institution has served the public through the collection, conservation, study, visual art exhibits and cultural activities.

Since its reopening in November 2010, the museum has implemented multiple programs that aim to impact its public: students, the elderly, residents of public housing projects, suburban families, special needs population, local and foreign tourists, historians, professors, and investigators. From November 2010 to March 2011 the museum received over 35,000 visitors, 90% of these residents of Puerto Rico.
